Welcome to our Website. First Federal Savings Bank was founded in Sheridan in 1935 as a mutual bank to help families in our community achieve home ownership. Today, our success as the leading home lender in the Sheridan community is built on our foundation as a mutual bank.

As a mutual savings bank we have many unique advantages that allow us provide our clients an enhanced banking experience. First Federal is not publicly traded and has no stockholders. This means we serve just one group: our clients. We maintain our financial independence from mergers by large out-of-state banks. By preserving our local decision-making abilities we improve the service quality and responsiveness we provide our clients. While stockholder-owned banks are under pressure to return profits to outside investors, we can choose to retain our earnings to create an added margin of financial safety for our clients. Lastly, as a mutual bank we are not driven by quarterly earning pressures but by long-term strategic plans. While most banks plan for the next year, we plan for the next decade.

On this foundation our people have built a company with $200 million in assets by using their values, vision and expertise to provide an elite level of banking experience. We have grown to accommodate the needs of our clients providing banking services to consumers, small businesses and, beginning this year, trust and fiduciary clients.
